Stepwyn Privacy Policy

Version 1 · Updated 1 November 2026 (website analytics added) · Applies to this website from 1 November 2026 and to the Stepwyn iPhone app from its App Store release.

The short version

1. Who we are

The Stepwyn iPhone app (the "App") is provided by Guy Greenberg, Founder & CEO, a sole proprietor in Israel trading as Stepwyn ("we", "us"). Contact: support@stepwyn.com.

For the small amount of personal data we do process, we are the "controller" under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the "database controller" under the Israeli Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981, as amended by Amendment 13. That data is: emails you send us, and crash and usage reports that Apple shares with us if you opt in on your iPhone.

We have no establishment in the EU or UK, and we have not appointed a data protection officer or an EU/UK representative, because our processing is occasional and low-risk (GDPR Art. 27(2)). Contact us directly at the email above.

Future company. Guy Greenberg may later move Stepwyn into a company he forms and controls. That company would then become the controller. We will tell you in advance in the App, and we will not use your data in new ways without telling you first.

2. What we collect

Through the App: nothing. We do not collect, receive, store, sell or share personal information through the App. The App:

What we may receive, and why:

3. Data stored on your device

The App saves what you create (your goals, tasks, habits, hobbies, sessions and settings) in the App's private storage on your iPhone. Some of it may describe personal goals or health-related plans. It stays on your iPhone under your control, and we cannot see it.

The App also stores your terms acceptance record (version, date and time, language). When you agree to our Terms, the App records on your iPhone which version you accepted, when, and in which language. This record stays on your iPhone and is never sent to us. It is kept if you reset Stepwyn data and removed if you delete the App. It is not part of exported backups.

If you use iCloud Backup or computer backups, iOS may include the App's data in them. Apple or your computer handles those backups under your own settings. We have no access to them.

4. Permissions

The App asks for a permission only when you turn on a feature that needs it. You can refuse, and the rest of the App still works. You can change your choice in iOS Settings > Stepwyn.

The App asks for no other permissions.

5. Backups and exports

You can export a backup of your Stepwyn data. The backup is a plain, unencrypted file. You choose where it goes with the iOS share sheet (for example Files, iCloud Drive, AirDrop or email). After that, the place you chose handles it under its own terms. We don't receive it unless you send it to us. Anyone who has the file can read it, so store and share it carefully. Import only reads a file you choose.

6. Apple and other third parties

We do not share or sell personal data. Apple provides the App Store, iOS, notifications, Calendar, iCloud and backups, and may collect information under its own privacy policy, such as App Store download records.

Crash and usage reports from Apple. If you turn on Share with App Developers in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements, Apple may share crash reports and app usage statistics with us through App Store Connect, in a form that Apple says doesn't personally identify you. The App itself contains no reporting code. You can turn this off at any time in the same setting.

We are not responsible for the practices of Apple or of any service you choose for exporting files or syncing your calendar.

Purchases and subscriptions: the App is currently free. If we offer paid features, we will update this policy first.

7. Our website

We don't set cookies on stepwyn.com. To count visits, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies. When you load a page, it receives the page address, the page you came from, your browser and device type, page load timings and your IP address, which Cloudflare uses to work out your country. We see only totals, not individual visitors. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, also processes connection data, such as IP addresses and network error reports, to deliver and secure the site, and forwards emails sent to our stepwyn.com addresses to our Google mailbox. Cloudflare processes website data for us under its data processing terms, and Google acts under its own privacy policy. You can block the website analytics with a browser content blocker. Website analytics don't apply to the Stepwyn app.

8. Retention and deletion

9. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the Israeli Protection of Privacy Law (including Amendment 13), the EU or UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act or other laws. These can include the right to access, correct or delete your data; to restrict or object to its use; to data portability; to withdraw consent; and to complain.

App data: it is all on your iPhone, so you use these rights directly. You can view and edit it in the App, export it, and delete it with "Reset local data" or by deleting the App. We hold no copy, so we cannot give you or delete one.

Data we hold (emails): write to support@stepwyn.com. We will reply within the time limits of applicable law (for example, one month under GDPR). We may need to verify your request.

Complaints: you may complain to your local data protection authority, such as an EU supervisory authority or the UK ICO. In Israel, you may contact the Privacy Protection Authority. We would appreciate the chance to resolve your concern first.

California: we do not sell or "share" personal information (as defined in the CCPA), and we do not use sensitive personal information.

Notice under Israeli law (section 11 of the Protection of Privacy Law) and GDPR Art. 13: you have no legal or contractual obligation to give us any personal data. Emailing us is your choice; if you don't, we simply can't reply. We use the data only for the purposes in section 2. It goes only to our email provider for support mail, and to authorities if the law requires it. We make no automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.

10. Children

Stepwyn is for people aged 13 and over, or 16 and over in EU/EEA countries where that higher age applies. The App collects no personal information from anyone. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, for example by email, contact support@stepwyn.com and we will delete it. If you are under 18 (or the age of legal majority where you live), you may use Stepwyn only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts our Terms of Use for you.

11. Security

App data is protected by iOS data protection, which encrypts data on your iPhone when you set a passcode. The App adds no encryption of its own. Exported backup files are not encrypted (see section 5). We limit access to our support mailbox to the people who need it. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

12. Languages

This policy is written in English and is available in Arabic, Hebrew, German, Italian, Greek and Spanish. If a translation conflicts with the English version, the English version prevails, except where the law of the country where you live gives you the right to rely on a version in your own language. If you live in Israel, the Hebrew and English versions are equally binding.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Each version has a version number and an effective date. If we make a material change to this policy, such as new data collection, a new service provider, or turning on analytics or crash reporting, we will show it in the App and ask you to confirm before you continue, and ask for your consent where the law requires it. Minor edits that do not change the meaning take effect when published.
